SA Truck Bodies modernises email with +OneX
The client
SA Truck Bodies specialises in trailer manufacturing and the supply of a full range of related products and services, such as trailer repairs as well as buying and selling of second-hand trailers. The company’s main branches are in Bloemfontein, Durban, Johannesburg, and Cape Town, with 51 parts depots across Africa.
The challenge
SA Truck Bodies needed to upgrade its hosted email platform because its existing provider was planning to sunset the service. It needed a secure, enterprise-grade email and calendar solution that would enable it to maximise productivity and improve mobile communication. The project would require 1,000 email accounts and the associated data to be seamlessly migrated to a new system.
Flexibility, timing and skills were key as there was a critical deadline to meet for the migration. SA Truck Bodies also wanted changes to be implemented quickly and cost-effectively, but without compromising on the need for thorough planning required. It was also essential to ensure that the on-premises Active Directory domain worked smoothly with the new cloud email system.
The solution
SA Truck Bodies appointed +OneX Security Services and Solutions, a Microsoft Solutions Partner, to help it roll out a new enterprise collaboration platform based on Microsoft Exchange Online, Office 365, and the Mimecast platform for security, continuity and archiving cloud services in a mail management system. As part of the deployment, +OneX worked with SA Truck Bodies to enable its team to work remotely with secure virtual private network access to company resources.
Business value achieved
SA Truck Bodies now has a scalable and efficient email platform in place with security and spam filtering built into the product. The solution has enabled the company to consolidate all email and scheduling onto a single secure platform with improved collaboration through shared calendaring and other Exchange features.
We were able to roll out the solution with minimal impact to the business, with no loss of email or data, and within the deadlines and budgets set at the outset of the project. SA Truck Bodies was able to maintain its internal Active Directory servers and have them work with the new cloud system. All users now have remote and mobile access to their mail via the cloud.
